Open Positions:

  • Artists for “Meeting at the Balance”

FPA has been a community steward to Freeway Park since 1993. In partnership with Seattle Parks & Recreation, FPA activates and advocates for Seattle’s most iconic downtown park. We design programs and services that meet the needs of all park users as we welcome everyone into our shared back-yard to create connections and experience art and nature in the heart of the city.

Our full-time staff is small so we offer opportunities to gig workers, artists and other professionals looking for unique experiences in a dynamic work environment.

Call for Artists

’Meeting at the Balance’ - ART OPPORTUNITIES IN FREEWAY PARK

The Freeway Park Association (FPA) seeks artists to add inspiration and expression to Freeway Park beginning March 2025. We are excited to announce our third light-art program, Meeting at the Balance which will include short-term (90 day) illuminated public art installations throughout Freeway Park AND one-night-only pieces, performances and artist-led workshops to be showcased at a community celebration on March 20th, the spring equinox.

This call is open to any artist or artist group based in the Pacific Northwest interested in creating illuminated artworks that will be displayed or performed in a public space, free to be seen by all. Artists who live and/or work in Seattle’s center city neighborhoods and artists who are members of BIPOC communities are encouraged to apply.
